HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PLAN YOUR WEDDING? Recent stats state that 5% of wedding couples book everything in within 0 to 6 months, 26% within 7 to 12 months, 6% within 24 months, 40% within 13 to 18 months & 23% within 19 to 24 months. Where do you fit in?!?!?
Wedding planning can be stressful and overwhelming! I totally get it! You have a million and one things to sort out with information coming from all directions! IS IT A CASE OF THE EARLY BIRD CATCHING THE WORM OR IN OUR CASE THE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER...you've decided on your date, you'll most like book in your venue and then what's on your list? If you are crazy about your photos, you'll start looking for your photographer before you start looking at your other suppliers. Booking your wedding photographer in early is vital to getting the photographer you want. I have couples book me in years in advance and a couple book me a week or sometimes the day before their wedding day! BUT leaving it to last minute defintaly reduces your chances of getting the photographer of your dreams. So its definitely a case of early bird catches the photographer!
SECURING YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER 9 TO 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO YOUR BIG DAY seems to be the sweet spot to ensure you secure the date with your photographer especially in the peek wedding season. However, I don't think there is hard and fast rule as my brides all have their own opinion on when they should book their supplies. Last year more and more of my couples prioritised booking their first choice wedding photographer. This decision is entirely up to you! You might want to be super organised or you might be a little more laid back approach to your wedding planning.

Is your date in the peek of the wedding season? Saturdays are the most popular days of the week to get married. Although in Queensland the peek wedding season is almost all year, April, September, October and November are far the busiest and most popular months due to the perfect weather conditions. If your planning on a Saturday wedding you had better get your skates on early January and book it in.
HOW IMPORTANT ARE YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS TO YOU?
For most of my Mrs Smiths brides, their wedding photos are vital for their wedding day and there are some brides that have other priorities...and that is more than OK because every bride is different. If photos are your everything and you want to capture your wedding your way, whilst creating masterpieces for your walls you might want to start booking in your favourite wedding photographer asap.

Depending on how much coverage you want, what you want captured (ie details, getting ready or just ceremony etc...) and your budget, these are the obvious considerations when you are deciding on your wedding photographer. However you also have to find a photographer you really vibe with because you are going to spend a lot of time with them on your special day. It's more than just a monetary investment, you have to be invested in your photographer too which means you might need a little more time to shuffle things around to book in your perfect photographer.
