MICRO WEDDINGS - WHAT ARE THEY?

Since covid we have seen the raise of "Microwedding" and for good reason. Let's face it weddings and budgets don't always see eye to eye. Having a smaller, more intimate wedding without the massive price tag is very appealing!

Weddings are expensive, time consuming and can be overwhelming. Most couples aren't event coordinators which means the whole process is very stressful. We have seen elopements take off over the last couple of years but they are not for everyone. Traditionally without parents, siblings or any of your BBF's. Eloping sounds romantic but when it comes down to it, its not for every everyone. Most couples want a few of their BBF's on their big day to help them celebrate their epic day. This where the Micro + Minimony weddings really come into their own. They are usually have a ‘low-key’ intimate feel about them. Normally at specific types of venues, mainly due to their size. It's safe to say you won’t usually find a micro wedding at a large scale winery which usually holds 200+ guests.

What Is a Microwedding vs a Minimony?

A microwedding is typically include a guest list of up to 50 guests—more often than not its immediate family and friends only. Where as a Minimony Wedding is up to 10 guest. Making the Micro + Minimony wedding more intimate and giving you back precious time with your guests rather than feeling like a you're being pulled from one person to the next just to say a quick thank you and hello. Which makes for a more enjoyable wedding experience for you and your partner. Celebrating only with your nearest and dearest means your guest budget is drastically reduced so you can splurge on your reception venue or buy that couture wedding dress and Jimmy Choo's you have been eyeing off since you starting planning your big day!

So where does one have a micro wedding?

Over the weekend Jacqui + Andy decide to go with a Minimony wedding having 10 of their closest family and friends with them at an intimate ceremony at the Brisbane Registry Office. This beautiful venue over looks Brisbane city with massive wall to ceiling glass windows around the whole room, and it's all done with minimum fuss. You are literally in and out and married within the hour. After the ceremony we captured some stunning portraits out and about in Brisbane's CBD before heading over to The W Hotel for their intimate wedding reception.

It looks like the micro weddings are here to stay and it's a good thing! Finally we have something for everyone!! There's room for every type of wedding from the small elopement, an intimate family affair to bringing down the rafters with the party of the century with your 200+ guests!

I will finish off with saying I am here for ALL of it and I can't wait to celebrate your wedding day, YOUR WAY! I just love LOVE!
